Boone County Clerk's Office Takes Precautions For COVID-19 In Regards To March 17, 2020 Election Day

In conjunction with the Boone County Health Department, the Boone County Clerk’s office is advising election day staff to routinely clean the voting equipment and be vigilant in washing their hands and using hand sanitizer.  Julie Stapler, Boone County Clerk, will be supplying each polling location with hand sanitizer, antibacterial wipes, touchscreen wipes, stylus pens to be used on the touchscreens, and signs reminding voters to wash their hands after voting.

 

Clerk Stapler is also working with the Boone County long-term health facilities and Heritage Woods to ensure their residents will still be able to vote.  The ballots will be delivered to the long-term health facilities and Heritage Woods, and returned to the Clerk’s office when completed.

 

Belvidere 5, Parkside Recreation Center, has been moved to VFW Post 1461, located at 1310 W Lincoln Ave, Belvidere.

Belvidere 9, Shadley Apartments, has been moved to Boone County Administration Campus, located at 1212 Logan Ave, Belvidere.   

Belvidere 16, Heritage Woods, has been moved to Poplar Grove Airport, located at 5151 Orth Rd, Poplar Grove.

 

The Boone County Council on Aging is open, but all Keen Age Center activities are currently suspended by directive of the Illinois department on Aging until further notice.  Registered Voters who normally vote there will still be allowed to vote there on Election Day.

 

Early Voting will continue in the Boone County Clerk’s office 8:30am-5PM Friday, March 13 and Monday, March 16, 2020.  They are also open 9am-Noon on Saturday, March 14, 2020.
