The civil engineer intern’s primary duties shall be to perform inspection, measurements, documentation and testing of County and Township infrastructure improvement projects under the direct supervision of the County Engineer. Additional duties shall include assisting the County Engineer with bridge inspections, storm water detention inspections, inventory reports and other duties as assigned.
The applicant should be able to read and apply contract documents (plans and specifications). The applicant must work independently on the task assigned. 90% of the work is expected to be on the construction site or working remotely in the field.
Some materials and road/bridge construction experience is a benefit but not required.

The program is intended to be a summer internship program. The start and end dates are flexible.
Qualifications:
- You must be 18 years of age by the start of the summer internship assignment.
- Ability to apply basic math and geometry concepts is required.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel & Word.
- Taken or enrolled in an Engineering or science based technical program.
