Services: The Probation Department provides supervision of both juvenile and adult clients ordered to probation by the court including informal supervision for minors. Probation Officers supervise persons ordered to probation by the court to insure compliance with conditions, and ensure public safety, with a goal of guiding and supporting the individuals to become law-abiding, productive citizens.

Officers prepare pre-sentence investigations; operate a community service program; network with schools; treatment providers and other facilities as necessary to nudge the probationer in the right direction.

The probation officers monitor the offender’s compliance to court ordered conditions of probation. Conditions of probation may include requirements such as mental health/alcohol/drug counseling, random drug testing, restitution, public service work, electronic monitoring of home confinement. Probation officers also investigate the social background of defendant’s appearing before the court prior to sentencing; notify the court of any previous convictions of crimes or probation violations; aid the defendant in rehabilitating himself and re-integrating himself into the social mainstream; maintain accurate records of all cases under their charge.

Boone County Court Appointed Special Advocate Program (CASA)

CASA volunteers are assigned to an abuse or neglect case by a judge. They conduct thorough research on the background of the case, reviewing documents, interviewing everyone involved, including the child. They make reports to the court, recommending what they believe is best for the child, providing the judge with information that will help her make an informed decision. CASA volunteers can be instrumental in assuring that a child or family receives services which the court has ordered - things like substance abuse counseling or special education testing. During the life of a case, a CASA volunteer monitors the child's situation to make sure he remains safe. CASA volunteers may be the only constant the child knows as she moves through the labyrinth of the child welfare system.
They DO Make A Difference!

Foster Care

Foster Care through the Children's Home and Aid Society of Illinois.

Foster care services provide safe and nurturing homes for children who have been removed from the care of their parents because of abuse or neglect. When families are unable or unwilling to care for their children, CHASI works to find suitable homes for them with foster parents who can provide the appropriate care based on each child's needs.

There are many children who need a loving home and someone to care. Unfortunately, there are more foster children than there are foster parents. You can make a difference in a child's life by opening your home and heart to a child who needs your loving care.
