Effective January 29, 2010 the State of Illinois passed a law requiring all new construction to meet the 2009 International Energy Conservation Code. The following information is required in order to determine compliance:
- Wall detail showing insulation materials with R-Values.
- Ceiling/Attic insulation values.
- Foundation detail showing the method used to insulate with appropriate R-Values.
- U-Factor of windows, exterior doors and any skylights.
- IC rated can lights with gasketing.
- Attic access insulated and gasketed.
- Programmable thermostat.
- All seams and joints in mechanical duct work will be sealed.
- State R-Value of ductwork outside of building thermal envelope (attic).
- At least 50% of light fixtures will be high efficacy.
- Hot water piping will be insulated (state R-Value).
- Provide heat loss calculations and info on size and efficiency of all mechanical units.
